We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, progressive and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to work 3 days per week within the Mental Health Liaison Team, working within Hereford County Hospital.
We support patients with a wide range of needs, including self-harm, adjustment to illness, physical and psychological co-morbidities. The successful candidate will be working alongside an experienced Specialty Doctor, Junior Doctor and be supported by an established medical secretary. The successful applicant will have CPD time built into their job plan and will have access to study leave and a study budget.
Main responsibilities
 * To provide medical leadership in Liaison Psychiatry to the Mental Health Liaison team.
 * To provide medical support and supervision to the Liaison team, completing second line specialist assessment and prescribing medical treatment where appropriate, supported by the Speciality and Junior Doctors.
 * To contribute to the development of the service in conjunction with other Team members, services within the Trust and other organisations locally including the Local Authority and Acute Trust.
 * Work closely and in partnership with other services and organisations to contribute to a seamless service of mental health provision and the development of appropriate care pathways for onward referral of individuals in need of further assessment and support.
