We are currently recruiting across two areas: Women’s and Children’s Services and Diagnostics, Anaesthetics and Surgery (DAS).
Women’s and Children’s Services – Post 1: Women & Children Division
The role involves operational delivery within both care groups in Division: Women's Health and Child Health Care Groups. The Division runs services in acute and community settings and requires strong operational leadership, coordination, effective workforce management in all specialist areas, and a clear focus on productivity and patient flow. The services include elective, cancer, non‑elective and community services. Candidates with experience in Women and Children services and the wider landscape are particularly welcomed, though transferable experience is also considered for those ready to lead senior operational responsibilities.
Diagnostics, Anaesthetics and Surgery (DAS) – Post 2: Surgical and Diagnostic Services
Responsible for the leadership and delivery of core surgical pathways, including Radiology, Trauma & Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Vascular and Breast services. This role has responsibility for a budget of £67.2m and focuses on driving performance across elective, cancer and urgent care pathways. Duties include working closely with clinical teams to improve access, quality, and patient outcomes while ensuring services are delivered efficiently and sustainably.
Theatres, Anaesthetics and Critical Care – Post 3
Responsible for the operational delivery of theatres, anaesthetics, critical care, pre‑operative assessment and resuscitation services, with a budget of £53.7m. Theatres operate across multiple sites including Conquest Hospital, Sussex Surgical Centre and Bexhill Ophthalmology, requiring strong cross‑site coordination, effective workforce management and a clear focus on productivity and patient flow. Candidates with experience in theatres and peri‑operative services are preferred.

The role will involve working closely with the Divisional Director of Operations and participating in a tri or quadrumvirate with the Clinical Director and Head of Nursing and Clinical Professions to oversee specific service improvement projects and support implementation of the divisional strategy.
