SEN SEND Behaviour Mentor / Teacher Specialist
Remedy Education is an education provider based in Lichfield set up at the request of parents.
The role is flexible to suit and hours can be adapted for the right applicants, Monday to Friday. Part time and full time positions are available. Between school hours.
It is an ideal position for someone who currently works as a mentor, home tutor, counsellor or youth worker and would be given the opportunity to work with students on a long‑term basis.
The ideal candidate will have:
* A passion for working with children and improving lives.
* Strong sense of humour.
* A background in supporting pupils who can sometimes display challenging behaviours and often need extra support due to social, emotional and mental health issues.
* Must be committed, thick skinned and resilient in order to offer pupils the support and consistency that they need to progress on their learning journey.
* A natural and creative approach to supporting children.
* A supportive and caring nature.
* Proven communication skills.
* An ability to use their own initiative for the best outcomes of the student.

* A proven ability to provide effective support to children and a passion to see them achieve their behaviour and educational goals.
* An ability to develop positive relationships with our learners.
* To provide a caring and supportive learning environment for all students.
* Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
* Previous experience of supporting challenging behaviour.
* A "can do" attitude and the tenacity and commitment to succeed.
* If you have had experience of working in youth offending teams, pupil referral units, secure units or any settings where those you have worked with can have volatile behaviour we would be very interested in speaking to you.
The applicant must be a driver with access to own transport. An enhanced DBS is required for immediate start but one can be issued if needed. The candidate also needs to provide recent references.

Pay: £22.50‑£35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 25 per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Education: A‑Level or equivalent (preferred)
Experience: Teaching: 1 year (preferred) Tutoring: 1 year (preferred)
Work Location: In person across Staffordshire, Walsall and Solihull
