Alexander James Recruiting is currently working with a leading supplier of industrial batteries and related products. Operating within a number of industries, they are now looking to bring on a UPS engineer to work with clients across Scotland and the UK within their Reserve Power division. This is a great opportunity for an electrical installations engineer with a background in industrial installations looking to get into an industry with long-term opportunities.
Responsibilities
Working alongside fully qualified UPS Engineers across Scotland
Installing AC and DC power systems from the clients supply to the UPS systems across Scotland and the UK when required
Commissioning of entire UPS system and completing certification reports
Carrying out routine maintenance and breakdown response of UPS systems
Testing battery systems for conductance, discharge and internal resistance
Managing your own Health & Safety, ensuring safety equipment is used when needed and reporting accidents/near accidents Requirements
The company is looking for a candidate who has experience for electrical installations within an industrial setting. It is also an essential requirement for you to have done field-based work. In terms of qualifications, a level 3 SVQ/NVQ or HNC in electrical engineering would be preferrable but they would also be open to similar qualifications. Overtime, the business will train the successful candidate to become a fully qualified UPS Engineer. In terms of location, there will be a requirement for you to travel to the depot in Edinburgh regularly so you must be based within commutable distance.
Benefits
Up to £40,000 base salary (depending on experience)
Overtime paid at time ½ Mon – Sat morning
Overtime paid at double time Sat afternoon – Sun
