KNOWLEDGE
Evidence of basic literacy and numeracy at Standard Grade General level or SVQ2 in Early Years Care and Education, or National Certificate unit in Childcare & Education, or equivalent competency, to enable effective communication with staff and pupils, and provide sensitive support.
The jobholder must be familiar with child development and able to respond to individual pupils' needs. Previous experience in this field is preferred.
Additional training courses such as first aid and calm techniques will be required for full competence in the role.
If the post is within a Nursery Environment, the jobholder must register with or obtain membership with the SSSC within 3 months of appointment. Weeks per year: 39
Applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale. The minimum salary for 20 hours/week over 39 weeks is £12,986.26 per annum.
Requirements
This post involves Regulated Work with Children under the PVG Scheme, and applicants must not be barred from such work.
