The Role
We are seeking qualified, experienced professionals who take ownership, drive delivery, and bring strong leadership, technical insight and tight control to their projects.
As a Project Manager in our Technology Products and Operations (TP&O) team, you'll lead the delivery of complex, impactful projects across digital, infrastructure, and procurement domains. You'll be part of a community of around 150 project professionals.
This is a hybrid role, requiring you to be in the office at North Greenwich or other TfL sites greater than 50% of your working time, in line with TfL's flexible working policy.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Creation and ownership of robust, realistic project plans and financial forecasts
* Lead multiple projects or a single complex project, ensuring delivery of outcomes and benefits
* Shape and deliver projects in collaboration with business, product, and technical leads
* Matrix-manage multi-disciplinary teams and secure resource commitments
* Influence commercial strategy and ensure value for money through effective contract management
* Hold suppliers accountable for delivery and quality and manage contract payments.
* Maintain governance, documentation, and risk/dependency management throughout the project lifecycle
* Set and uphold high standards of project management practice
* Reporting, presenting and cost management of the projects
*Essential Skills & Experience*
* Demonstrable qualifications or experience in managing technology-focused projects
* Able to influence stakeholders at all levels
* Proven ability to matrix-manage and diverse teams and drive performance
* Resilient and solutions-focused, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
* Expertise in planning and managing complex projects end-to-end
* Financial acumen: budget management, forecasting, and variance tracking
* Skilled in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation
* Proficient in Microsoft Office inc MSP
* Essential Accreditation
* Accreditation in a recognised project management methodology such as APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner, MSP, or equivalent
Desirable
* Experience in public sector or large matrix organisations
* Familiarity with procurement and contract management
* Delivery experience via external suppliers
* Line management of project professionals
* Knowledge of public sector IT regulations (e.g. GDPR, FOI, EU Procurement)
