Production Team Leader
Location: Horsham, West Sussex
Salary: £32,000 - £39,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, with early Friday finishes
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Production Team Leader to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Horsham. About the Role As a Production Team Leader, you’ll take responsibility for leading a small team of electrical and mechanical technicians, ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and daily objectives are consistently achieved. You’ll act as a go-to technical resource—sharing expertise, troubleshooting production issues, and driving efficiency improvements throughout the team.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining production schedules, ensuring build accuracy across projects, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with production supervisors and engineering teams, you’ll contribute to developing best practices while fostering a positive, collaborative work culture.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support the production team, setting clear goals and monitoring progress
Ensure all equipment is built to specification and quality checked prior to dispatch
Provide hands-on technical guidance and troubleshooting support to team members
Work closely with production control and engineering teams to improve efficiency and resolve technical issues
Manage workshop stock and communicate with supply chain teams as needed
Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new team members
Maintain a safe, organised, and compliant workplace
Contribute to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
Skills & Experience Essential:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a production or workshop environment
Previous leadership or supervisory experience
City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline
Desirable:
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
Experience working in a mechanical or electrical assembly environment
