We’re on the lookout for a Training & Development Specialist to join our 2025 shortlisted IiP People team who have the ambition and enthusiasm to challenge the status quo and make changes to ensure we deliver excellent service. We’re a diverse group of practitioners who love what we do and we’re looking for someone who shares that energy, brings fresh thinking, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves.


This is a permanent, full-time role where you’ll have the chance to work across the full spectrum of people initiatives from hands-on operational tasks to strategic projects that shape engagement, wellbeing, and culture.


You won’t just deliver training you’ll design experiences, drive OD initiatives, and influence the way our people grow and thrive. You’ll partner with managers, lead on engagement and EDI projects, revamp our induction, and champion programmes like Aspiring Managers. Training and Development Specialist responsibilities:

· Partnering with managers to identify learning needs

· Leading OD initiatives around engagement, culture, wellbeing, and EDI

· Revamping induction and supporting leadership development programmes

· Driving performance management and appraisal processes

· Designing and delivering training sessions and events

· Managing compliance training and evaluating effectiveness

· Sharing insights and best practices to keep us ahead of the curve


Hours of Work: Full-time: 37 hours per week, 5 days a week, Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm.

Location: Home based with occasional travel to Birmingham and Stevenage Offices and to visit client sites nationwide.


Contract type: Permanent

Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 per annum dependent on experience.


Training and Development Specialist requirements:

· Experience in training, L&D, or OD

· Experience in delivering training and/or working in a training team.

· Strong communication skills, creativity, resilience, and a passion for positive change.

· Comprehensive knowledge of the MS Office suite.

· A mix of commercial and charity or public sector experience.

· Excellent communication skills and a flexible and adaptable approach.

· A qualification in training, coaching, or mentoring would be advantageous but not essential.
