A position is available in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton for a Medical Statistician with an interest in preconception, maternal, and child health. The position is based at the MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Centre at Southampton General Hospital.
The post holder will lead and contribute to quantitative studies related to the NiPPeR trial (https://www.southampton.ac.uk/research/institutes-centres/nipper-study). Responsibilities include data management, quality control, statistical analysis, and developing analysis plans.
They will collaborate with colleagues across disciplines and communicate complex information effectively to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
Requirements include an MSc or PhD in Statistics, with experience or interest in medical or public health research. Experience in epidemiological statistical methods is desirable. The candidate should have excellent organizational, communication, and computing skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
This is a fixed-term, full-time position (1.0 FTE) for 1 year, with potential for part-time and hybrid working arrangements. A minimum of 60% of work time is expected to be based in the MRC LEC office.
