82129 - Fitter
This fitter will report to the field staff supervisor and will work within network operations in our Hemel Hempstead office. You will be a permanent employee in our UK Power Networks team.
You will attract a salary of £39,238 plus benefits and a bonus of 3%.
If you are successful, you will need to undertake a medical and DBS reference check

Job Purpose:
Work in the field at multiple locations maintaining plant and equipment at various substations on the electrical distribution network, up to and including the 132Kv volt system.
Duties
10. Responsibility for all aspects of Safety, Health and Environment relevant to this role
11. To carry out risk assessments and maintain safe working practices
12. Be able to operate hand held IT equipment to receive job instructions and record asset data information
13. Maintain electrical plant and equipment from the low voltage network up to and including the 132000 volt network
14. Undertake sub station inspections
15. Report hazards and defects that they are unable to rectify through the appropriate reporting procedure
16. Ensure quality of works meets with current policies and procedures
17. Act as an ambassador for UK Power Networks and deliver excellent customer service
18. Be able to work on their own or as part of a team.
Experience
19. The successful candidates should have the following:
20. Hold a current driving licence.
21. Have or be prepared to work towards a City & Guilds 2339 (formally 232) certificate in Electrical Power Distribution (or similar)
22. The ability to demonstrate experience of working on regional electricity networks and therefore have knowledge of the electrical distribution network would be an advantage but is not essential.

Candidates with relevant transferrable skills and experience would be considered for the training role of "Craft Attendant Fitter"
Health & Safety Responsibilities
