Smile Education is proud to be working in partnership with a specialist SEN support unit in Walsall, supporting students aged 16–25 with a wide range of needs. We are seeking multiple Learning Support Assistants to provide in-class support, pastoral care, and personal care where required. You will be part of a dedicated team helping young people to build confidence, achieve learning goals, and develop key life skills in a supportive and structured environment. Student Needs May Include: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Trauma-informed support Physical disabilities Personal care assistanceKey Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support within the classroom Assist students during break and lunch periods Support students with personal care needs (training provided) Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals Provide cover for other staff members in the unit as requiredWhat We’re Looking For: A minimum Level 2 qualification in Childcare or Education (essential) Previous experience working with young people with additional needs (Essential) A calm, compassionate, and resilient approach A team player with a flexible and proactive attitude Willingness to undertake additional training as neededWhat You’ll Receive: Full induction and detailed briefing on students' individual needs Ongoing support from the Smile Education team Access to CPD opportunities and career progression A rewarding role where you can truly make a differenceInterested in joining a committed team and making a meaningful impact?
