Operating our own fleet of temperature-controlled 3.5T vehicles, we provide 24/7, 365-day coverage, ensuring regulatory compliance, product integrity, and exceptional service at every stage of the journey.
Due to continued growth and changes in regulations, we are looking to recruit an experienced Transport Planner to join our team at our Warwickshire site.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated transport professional with strong European planning experience, who understands EU driver regulations and tachograph compliance, and who enjoys working in a fast-paced, time-critical environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Transport Planner will be responsible for the day-to-day planning and coordination of UK and European transport movements, ensuring time-critical, temperature-controlled deliveries are executed efficiently, compliantly, and to the highest standard.
You will play a key role in supporting and developing our growing UK and European operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Planning and coordinating UK and EU transport movements
* Creating efficient, compliant routes and schedules across Europe
* Ensuring all planning is carried out in line with EU Drivers' Hours and Tachograph Regulations
* Allocating work to drivers and providing clear job briefings and instructions
* Monitoring vehicle progress and proactively managing delays, breakdowns, or route issues
* Communicating effectively with customers and maintaining service expectations
* Coordinating import/export movements and supporting customs documentation processes
* Job pricing and quoting
* Maintaining accurate planning records and compliance documentation
* Supporting continuous improvement within planning and operational processes
* Working closely with drivers, customers, and internal teams to deliver exceptional service
Candidate ProfileEssential (Applicants must have all of the below):
* Proven experience as a Transport Planner / Dispatcher in a time-critical environment
* Strong European transport planning experience
* Working knowledge of EU Drivers' Hours and Tachograph Regulations
* Ability to plan and manage routes across the UK and Europe efficiently
* Confident managing multiple transport movements at once under pressure
* Strong geographical knowledge of UK and mainland Europe
* Strong IT skills (Excel, Outlook and general planning systems)
* Excellent communication skills with drivers and customers
* Calm, organised, and decisive when dealing with operational issues
Desirable:
* Experience in temperature-controlled, pharmaceutical, or high-value transport
* Experience with customs processes and export/import documentation
* Familiarity with TMS / transport planning software
* Experience in a compliance-led environment
