Your new role
As the Production Manager, you will oversee all manufacturing activity from the point of customer order through to final dispatch and aftersales support. You will be responsible for ensuring production schedules are planned effectively, resources are allocated appropriately, and all customermitments are met. Working closely with Customer Accounts, Purchasing, Quality, and HSE teams, you will lead production meetings, maintain clearmunication across departments, address operational challenges, and keep senior leadership informed of progress and solutions. You will play a key role in championing continuous improvement across the site, driving initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency, and safety. A central part of your role will be mentoring supervisors, supporting team development, and promoting a culturemitted to zero defects and zero incidents. You will also contribute to the modernisation of production methods and the redevelopment of facilities to further strengthen operational capability.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will bring at least three years’ experience in a production supervisory or management role within a high‑volume manufacturing environment, along with strong technical knowledge of engineering production machinery and the ability to interpret engineering drawings. You will have a solid understanding of continuous improvement approaches and hold a degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent qualification. You will demonstrate excellent planning and organisational capabilities, strongmunication and leadership skills, and the ability to guide teams through shifting priorities. A high level of self‑motivation, confidence in decision‑making, andpetence with MS Office are essential, with experience using CAD software considered advantageous. Experience within steel fabrication, surface coating, or mechanical assembly environments would further strengthen your application.
