Job Description
The successful candidate will be leading an integrated supply chain / procurement team and co-ordinate all supply chain engagement, ranging across with our key customers and suppliers to maximise customer service and operating performance across the Appledore, Methil and Arnish sites.
* Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy
* Lead cross-functional teams to develop optimum sourcing strategies
* Implement spend/supply assessments, consolidation review and sourcing analyses to ensure best practice.
* Negotiate pricing and rebate structures with key suppliers across Appledore and other sites.
* Develop strong relationships with new and key suppliers as well as other disciplines across the business.
* Source new suppliers for equipment portfolio that deliver more added value for the business.
* Work with QC to baseline and introduce continuous improvement. Monitor and measure Non-Conformances to Quality or Technical standards identified by QC/ Operations or others and agree resolution with suppliers.
* Liaise with technical development and sales team to ensure that the pipeline of products is delivered on time and tracked appropriately via IFS.
* Develop a contract strategy for suppliers and create, negotiate, monitor and enforce when applicable.
* Develop robust sales demand forecasting tools and practices working closely with cross-functional teams.
* Manage and continually develop supply chain / procurement team
* Leadership and growth of an efficient and effective supply chain / procurement capability
* Annually, deliver input to the wider Business Plan with defined KPIs and targets.
* Integrate with sales, bid and operational teams to deliver identified priorities.
* Identify collaborative opportunities which support competency development, growth potential and capability development
* Drive and coordinate the activities of a multi-faceted team within the wider business ensuring technical support, input and decisions are integral to bid reviews, bid compliance, bid submission and lessons learned areas
* Actively identify, promote, and manage HSE behaviours and competences within the team to ensure high standards are achieved and maintained
* Implement a succession planning process ensuring internal & externally sourced resource supports capability development
* Lead by example as a key member of the H&W Belfast Management Team exhibiting the company values and appropriate behaviours
* Demonstrate strong and active leadership for HSE & Quality, setting high standards in all areas
* Play a lead role in developing and improving the business’ Safety culture and ensure completion of agreed audits and reviews
* Play a lead role integrating the business across all Departments ensuring a “One Team” approach to delivery
Qualifications
* Experience of working in a Procurement team, at manager / supervisor level, preferably within a marine, manufacturing or construction environment.
* Relevant Business, Manufacturing or Engineering Degree or proof of relevant experience.
* CIPS Qualifications or working towards
* Ability to guide, mentor and develop a team. A strong awareness of employment legislation and best practice regarding, but not limited to processes, wellbeing, and equal opportunities.
* Knowledge of different types of contracts, any law / contract background
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
* Previous experience of using an ERP system.
* Knowledge of the local Supply Chain.
* Experience of dealing with the Supplier Non-Conformance process
* Typically requires undergraduate degree and staff and/or technical project/process management experience, or equivalent.
