We’re on the lookout for Cover Supervisors—the unsung heroes who keep lessons moving when teachers are away. Think of it as running the room without having to plan the lesson. You’ll be delivering pre-set work, keeping students focused, and making sure the school day runs smoothly.
Schools across Sunderland, Washington, Houghton-le-Spring, Seaham, Silksworth, Ryhope, and Hetton-le-Hole are looking for reliable, classroom-ready people who can step in and take the lead.
What’s the job like?
* Cover lessons across a range of subjects (no specialist knowledge needed)
* Support students aged 11–16 during the school day
* Keep a calm and orderly classroom atmosphere
* Be a positive, reliable presence schools can count on
Is this you?
You might be a graduate, ex-TA, sports coach, youth worker—or just someone who’s brilliant at managing a room and connecting with young people. If you’re confident, organised, and quick on your feet, you’ll fit right in.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
