Position Title: Director Maintenance
Compensation:
Full-time, Select: Salary Grade E58 commensurate with experience. Comprehensive Benefits including Health, Life Insurance, STD, 401(k) plan and more!

Scope & Responsibilities of Director Maintenance: (Not limited to)
* Oversight and direction of a team of ~50 maintenance personnel.
* Ensures the maintenance department is properly staffed and trained.
* Clearly communicates company and maintenance departmental goals around performance and ensures that they are understood.
* Holds team accountable for performance against these goals.
* Provides leadership and one-on-one and group coaching to maintenance employees.
* Works closely with VP of Operations to identify future leaders and creates individual development plans for these candidates.
* Ensures systems and processes are in place to drive safety, environmental and quality performance by the workgroup.
* Leads the development of relevant systems and procedures required for PSM compliance.
* Reviews safety observations and sub-standard equipment reports, then identifies trends or areas of concern.
* Ensures that all incidents are investigated and participates directly in significant incident investigations.
* Works with the Reliability group to eliminate equipment defects and identify and reduce Bad Actors.
* Assists in the preparation of the annual budget and monitors all expenditures for the Maintenance Department.
* Assists in the selection, use and evaluation of service contractors and outside repair shops.
* Ensures CMMS system is properly utilized and equipment histories are up to date.
* Ensures maintenance activities (including PM/PdM) are planned & scheduled and executed in the most efficient manner.
* Analyzes maintenance key performance indicators and drives course correction.

Education & Experience for Director Maintenance:
* 10+ years' industry experience with strong supervisory and people leadership skills.
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Will consider candidates with equivalent experience.
Other Qualifications of Director Maintenance:
* Knowledge of permit requirements associated with plant operation; Maintenance Reliability Processes
* Experience with PSM and Occupational Health & Safety and managing plant turnarounds/shutdowns.
* Core leadership role in the development and execution of maintenance systems, processes and procedures for the overall petroleum refining facility.
* Microsoft Office applications Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook as well as other applicable software.
* Demonstrated ability in the use of process simulation software, project mgmt. system.
* Ability to communicate effectively with team members, customers and other department personnel.
* Valid Driver’s License.
Physical & Cognitive Demands of Director Maintenance & Reliability:
* COGNITIVE DEMANDS: Meet deadlines, focus attention, work independently, independent judgments, work with a team, communicating, reading comprehension, critical thinking/troubleshooting.
* PHYSICAL DEMANDS: seeing, speaking, hearing, sitting, walk/climb, stand/reach, listen, writing, driving, keyboarding, Working in extreme heat/cold. Push/pull/lift/carry 25 pounds.
