KS1 Teacher – Nurturing Young Minds in Longsight Longsight, South-East Manchester Position: KS1 Teacher Location: Longsight, South-East Manchester Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Salary: MPS / UPS dependent on experience Start Date: Immediate About the School This inclusive primary school in Longsight is seeking a passionate and dedicated KS1 Teacher to join its experienced team. The Role As a KS1 Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching pupils in Year 1 or Year 2, creating a nurturing classroom environment that inspires curiosity and learning. You will plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the curriculum, with a particular emphasis on English, mathematics, and foundation subjects. Your role will also involve supporting pupils’ social and emotional development, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and independence. Collaboration with teaching assistants, specialist staff, and leadership will be key in delivering personalised support for pupils, including those with additional needs. Key Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include: Delivering engaging and differentiated lessons in line with the curriculum Planning and assessing learning using a variety of strategies Tracking pupil progress and identifying areas for development Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development Promoting independence, resilience, and positive learning habits Collaborating with teaching assistants, subject leaders, and the SENCO Communicating effectively with parents and carers Participating in staff meetings, CPD, and school initiatives Contributing to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and trips Maintaining safeguarding and health and safety standards The Ideal Candidate The school seeks a KS1 Teacher who: Holds QTS and has experience teaching Key Stage 1 Demonstrates a passion for early years education and child development Can deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons Has strong classroom management and organisational skills Understands and supports SEN, EAL, and pastoral needs Is reflective and committed to professional growth Builds positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents Promotes inclusion, wellbeing, and resilience Professional Development The school provides: Mentoring and support from experienced staff CPD opportunities in pedagogy, curriculum development, and SEN Opportunities to lead initiatives and projects Support for assessment preparation and interventions Collaborative teaching and learning opportunities What the School Offers Inclusive, welcoming, and collaborative school culture Experienced and supportive leadership Well-resourced classrooms and learning materials Focus on staff wellbeing and development Long-term career progression opportunities Opportunity to make a real difference in children’s lives Safeguarding Statement The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
