Job snapshot The Hospital Business Manager’s purpose in this role is to effectively increase sales volume and revenue through medical device product sales year on year, whilst maintaining strong customer relations and increasing market share. It is critical in this role that the TM acts with integrity and ethics. Taking every opportunity to promote the organisation and its values and increase its standing within the market. Responsibilities & Key Competencies : Not limited to but will include: Achievement of Company sales, profit margins and product targets for the region. To have a comprehensive knowledge of the businesses along with regards to product range, technical specifications, prices, features, benefits, clinical applications and sales strategies. Presentation of products and services to Clinicians, theatre / department managers and nursing staff using clinical data. Education of customers (and team members) in product features and benefits, clinical use of products and new technologies. Creating executable and measurable territory business plans to achieve targets. Maintaining and reporting, daily sales activity reports, account records, expenses and other administration as required by the Company. Active participation in frequent business reviews with line manager including competitor activity. Participation in study days, exhibitions and workshops on-territory and nationally as required. Infrequent overseas travel might be required. Ongoing development of core competencies, knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in the role. Assisting with and providing input for all marketing, research and product launches when necessary. Understanding of purchasing pathways within the NHS and private sector. Ability to influence and negotiate with all clinical and purchasing stakeholders within the NHS and private sector. Effective use of relevant IT applications, communication tools and internal software systems including record keeping using Salesforce. Maintaining high quality customer records and opportunity pipeline using Salesforce. Solution-driven with a patient-centric approach to doing business. Structured approach with a focus on rapid progression of sales opportunities. Consultative value-based selling skills. Excellent presentation, negotiation and closing skills. Sales skills and territory analysis. Comfortable with a procedure-based sales approach. The successful candidate will: Be self-motivated, pragmatic and tenacious in seeking new growth opportunities. Be a true team-player quick to learn from and provide support to colleagues at levels. Be flexible and enthusiastic mindset. Can travel frequently throughout assigned territory. Have proven experience in working to challenging but achievable and realistic deadlines. Have excellent written, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Have good working knowledge of Microsoft® Office. Have excellent organisational skills. Have strong personal drive. Have Medical Device sales experience in Ophthalmology Have a full clean Driver’s license. Be highly developed interpersonal, networking and influencing skills.
