About the Role
Are you looking to take your nursing (RGN, RNLD, RMN), occupational therapy, paramedic, or physiotherapy career in a new direction? Do you seek a role that values your attention to detail, compassion, and empathy, while offering a healthy work-life balance, education, and opportunities to develop in the medico-legal field? Or are you interested in transitioning into an Occupational/Vocational pathway?
You will assess up to four to six customers per day.
Assessments can be conducted on paper, via telephone, video, or face-to-face.
You will take clinical observations, ask questions, and create written reports.
Your reports will be forwarded to the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP), who will decide on support for the customer.
The assessments focus on benefits such as Personal Independent Payments or Employment and Support Allowance managed by DWP.
Training & Development
Customers may have various clinical issues; you will receive industry-leading training from experienced clinical tutors. The training will equip you to support customers and transfer your current medical skills to the role.
The full training lasts approximately six months, during which you will be paid. This role supports maintaining your registration with RGN or HCPC, including revalidation assistance.
After training, you will have ongoing CPD, with over 100 hours protected annually, support with revalidation, and career development opportunities within the organization. You will be assigned a clinical supervisor and can pursue a Diploma in Disability Assessment Medicine accredited by the FOM.
Your Requirements
You should be a nurse, OT, Paramedic, or Physiotherapist with at least one year of experience in inpatient roles handling diverse clinical conditions. Computer literacy and typing skills (at least 40 words per minute) are advantageous.
