We’re looking for smart meter engineers with a track record of safety and customer excellence. You’ll be representing our brands in our customers’ homes so you’ll need to be just as happy talking to the customer and getting to know them as you are about doing the installation itself. You’ll be fitting meters; showing customers how their meter and in-home display work; how it can help them save energy and answering any questions about the green energy revolution we are leading.
As part of the Octopus Energy Services team, we’ll ensure you have the best of everything you need to deliver the top-class service we’re aiming for. You’ll be supported by an office team who will share the same performance goals, so we’re always working as one team. You’ll also have the backing of Octopus Energy’s tech power, enabling us to evolve and shift processes to spend less time on admin and more time delivering our best service.
Responsibilities
* Fit smart meters and demonstrate how to use the meter and in-home display to help customers save energy.
* Explain and answer questions about the green energy revolution we are leading.
* Represent the Octopus brands in customers’ homes with a focus on safety and customer excellence.
* Collaborate with the Octopus Energy Services team to meet performance goals and deliver high-quality service.
Qualifications
* MOCoPA – held within the last 3 years and can provide evidence
* Gas Safe – CCN1/MET1 or CMA1/MET1 (or equivalent)
* Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points

Call-out, overtime and weekend pay
* Rotating call-out schedule once every five weeks; £250 retainer. Paid door-to-door if called out
* Saturday bonuses: £50 attendance, £70 for a dual fuel installation, £35 for a single fuel installation; technical aborts paid at half rate
Next steps
* If eligible, you may be invited to join us at our in-person recruitment event, Octopalooza, to demonstrate your skills.
* You’ll complete a practical trade test and have an interview with an Area Manager. You’ll also be able to ask questions about life as a Smart Meter Engineer with Octopus.
