Job title: UAV Pilot
Salary: Negotiable (depending on experience)
Location: Maidenhead, Berkshire
The Malloy Aeronautics Team:
Malloy Aeronautics Limited specializes in the development of heavy lift unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) for both civilian and military uses. Located in Berkshire, our operations are notable for their focus on in-house design and manufacturing. This vertical integration means we control the production of most aircraft components on-site, enhancing our ability to innovate and maintain high standards across all stages of development.
About The Role:
Reporting to the Chief Operations Pilot, the successful candidate will be fulfilling a diverse range of flying tasking within an industry leading UAS company, on some of the largest and most advanced uncrewed Air Systems in the world.
The role will include production testing of newly manufactured UAVs, trials flying to explore the envelope of new and nascent designs, instructing both military and civil clients from all over the world to operate our platforms and demonstration flying to showcase our products and their capabilities to new customers. This tasking is often away from our home site, and the role offers fantastic opportunity for travel, diverse flying tasks on a wide array of new and varied platforms, and industry leading training and professional development.
In addition to flying tasking, the successful candidate will assist in supporting the running of the flight operations department including logistics, maintenance, equipment set up and safety management, forming a vital part of safe and efficient operation of our aircraft both on the ground and in the air.
The role represents an exciting opportunity for an experienced UAV pilot, offering excellent career progression and the opportunity to join a fantastic, inclusive and growing team within an industry leading company.
Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK
What we are looking for (but not limited to):
The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation of UAV experience including flying in manual modes on Specific category (S2) platforms, preferably more than 50 Hours solo flight. Experience in the military UAS realm or commercial sector would further be highly desirable, but candidates from all backgrounds who meet the requisite standard for interview will be considered.
The right candidate must also be highly flexible to support operational tasking both at home and overseas. An ability to quickly assimilate and retain new information is likewise vital to keep up with a fast-paced operational tempo, and to support the continued development and rapid prototyping of new products fielded to respond to new challenges, and emerging opportunities.
Given the requisite responsibility for the safe conduct of their flying operations, they must be able to deliver tasking independently, including demonstrating robust decision-making skills and an exemplary approach to safety.
