We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious performance analyst to join a dedicated performance analysis team supporting emerging elite women and girls' rugby players in North Wales. The role aims to prepare players for professional and international rugby.
The part-time position involves delivering the national strategic direction for performance analysis to develop the Performance Pathway for female players in North Wales, aligning with the WRU strategic goal of ‘developing more and better players for the professional game and for Wales through life enriching experiences’.

The Person
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in performance analysis or a sport science-related subject, with experience in talent or performance environments and working with coaches to develop players. They should have a thorough understanding of current sport science and analysis techniques, excellent IT skills, and proficiency in SportsCode software, as well as familiarity with other software like Google and Microsoft, and comfort with the Apple Mac OS.
They should also have the ability to produce high-quality still and moving images for performance analysis, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build relationships across various stakeholders and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
The Role
The role involves developing the performance analysis program within PDC North, providing innovative solutions alongside best practices to support player progression from schools/colleges to national programs.
This will include:
* Building individual player profiles using SportsCode databasing, statistical reporting, and game trend analysis.
* Collaborating with the PDC Lead and SSSM staff to review long-term player development.
* Enhancing coaching and player development through analytical interventions.
* Delivering performance analysis for teams, players, and opponents to aid feedback and talent identification.
* Managing ancillary performance analysis staff, providing guidance, and upskilling.
* Ensuring proper filming, analysis, archiving, and equipment maintenance.
* Providing analysis services to Women’s National U20s and U18s teams as needed.
WRU Requirements
Proficiency in IT, especially Microsoft Office, excellent communication skills, and relationship-building abilities are essential. Welsh language skills and a valid UK driver's license are desirable. The role requires an enhanced DBS check.
