What Are We Looking For?
RSE is recruiting Senior Control System Engineers across our business to join us in delivering solutions to the Water industry. You’ll be involved in the development, commissioning, and support of automation and control systems solutions, including design, specification, programming, simulation, testing, and start-up assistance.
Key Duties
1. Develop detailed design proposals for new build and ICA refurbishment projects.
2. Design, develop, and program control systems using Siemens TIA Portal and AB Studio 5000.
3. Configure and implement Siemens WinCC SCADA systems and HMIs.
4. Troubleshoot and optimize existing control systems for performance and reliability.
5. Generate client documents including FDS and SDS.
6. Collaborate with teams to define system requirements and specifications.
7. Conduct system testing, validation, and commissioning at client sites.
8. Provide technical support and training to clients and team members.
9. Define and implement project Software Testing strategies.
10. Manage change control throughout the project lifecycle.
11. Develop and self-test control system software per FDS requirements.
12. Assist commissioning teams both in workshops and on-site.
13. Perform Site Acceptance Testing against SAT documents.
14. Provide technical advice on automation issues to design and delivery teams.
15. Manage automation projects within budget and guidelines.
Requirements
* HNC/HND in Engineering or related field.
* Proven experience in control and electrical systems, preferably in Hydro power and Water sectors.
* Experience with PLC and HMI/SCADA systems, including manufacturers like Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi.
* Knowledge of Profibus, ProfNet, Ethernet, Modbus, DH+.
* Experience integrating control systems in live environments.
* Strong understanding of process systems, P&ID control, and loop tuning.
* Ability to read electrical schematics.
* Willingness to travel and work on-site regularly.
* ECS/CSCS card, SIMEMS/Rockwell certification, full UK driving license.
