Job Purpose The Director of Marketing Operations is a senior managerial role responsible for the strategy, architecture and execution of RWS’s global marketing operations function. This role is critical to elevating how marketing operates. Owning the end-to-end marketing systems stack, data integrity, process design, and performance measurement that underpin demand generation, lifecycle marketing and revenue growth. As the functional owner of HubSpot, the Director of Marketing Operations ensures that marketing execution is scalable, measurable, and tightly aligned with sales and revenue teams. This role leads and develops the Marketing Operations team, sets best practices, and acts as a strategic partner to GTM teams. This role will help transform marketing operations from executional support into a high-impact, insight-driven, and revenue-enabling function. Key Responsibilities: Marketing Operations Strategy & Leadership • Own and define the global Marketing Operations strategy, roadmap, and operating model • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Marketing Operations team • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and governance across marketing systems and processes • Act as a senior advisor to Marketing leadership on data, systems, attribution, and performance • Drive continuous improvement, scalability, and operational excellence across marketing Marketing Technology & Systems Ownership • Serve as the global owner and subject-matter expert for HubSpot and Marketing owner for Salesforce • Architect and maintain a best-in-class marketing automation and CRM ecosystem • Ensure seamless integration between HubSpot, Salesforce, and adjacent tools (data, enrichment, analytics, intent, BI) • Lead system configuration, optimisation, and advanced functionality (automation, workflows, custom objects, integrations) • Partner with IT and RevOps to ensure security, scalability, and system reliability Lead Management, Lifecycle & Process Design • Own end-to-end lead, contact, and account lifecycle design across marketing and sales • Define and govern lead scoring, routing, qualification, and handoff processes • Ensure consistent lifecycle definitions (MQL, SQL, SAL, pipeline stages) across teams • Optimise marketing contribution to pipeline velocity and conversion • Design processes that support ABM, enterprise buying groups, and long sales cycles Skills & Experience: Essential Experience & Skills • Previous strong experience in Marketing Operations or Revenue Operations leadership • Deep, hands-on expertise in HubSpot and Salesforce at enterprise scale • Proven experience owning marketing systems architecture and integrations • Strong understanding of B2B demand generation, lifecycle marketing, and ABM • Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams • Advanced knowledge of attribution, reporting, and pipeline analytics • Experience partnering with Sales, RevOps, and Finance leadership • Strong process design, problem-solving, and systems-thinking skills Desirable Experience • Experience operating in complex, global, or matrixed organisations • Exposure to enterprise sales cycles and multi-stakeholder buying groups • Experience scaling marketing operations functions during growth or transformation • Familiarity with BI tools, data warehouses, and advanced analytics Behaviours & Mindset • Strategic thinker with strong execution discipline • Highly credible with senior stakeholders and executives • Commercially minded and revenue-focused • Calm, structured, and decisive in complex environments • Detail-oriented without losing sight of the bigger picture • Collaborative, enabling, and people-first leader • Passionate about building scalable systems that drive real outcomes Life at RWS - If you like the idea of working with smart people who are passionate about growing the value of ideas, data and content by making sure organizations are understood, then you’ll love life at RWS.
