About The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and positive Store Person to join our Living Places team based out of our street lighting operational depot in Coventry. This is a key, depot-based role where you will support the smooth day-to-day running of stores operations, ensuring materials, equipment and stock are managed efficiently and safely. Working as an integral part of the wider operational team, you will take responsibility for supporting street lighting activities through effective stock control, organisation of the depot, and timely issue of materials. This role is ideal for someone with previous experience working in, or managing, a stores environment who takes pride in keeping things organised, accurate and running smoothly.


What you'll be doing

As a Store Person, you will play a key role in supporting the day‑to‑day operation of the street lighting depot. Your responsibilities will be varied and hands‑on, covering stores management, fleet and plant coordination, compliance, and procurement support.

* Maintaining a safe, tidy and well‑organised stores and yard environment
* Managing deliveries and booking stock in and out accurately, including use of a forklift truck
* Monitoring stock levels, carrying out stock counts and ensuring inventory accuracy
* Proactively ordering materials and managing minimum and maximum stock levels
* Supporting day‑to‑day plant and vehicle issues, liaising with internal teams and external suppliers
* Ensuring tools, lifting equipment and electrical assets are maintained, calibrated and compliant
* Assisting with health & safety compliance and audit preparation
* Supporting procurement by liaising with the contract team to purchase materials


Who we're looking for

We’re looking for someone with a strong background in stores or warehouse operations, who takes ownership of their work and brings a proactive, can‑do attitude to the team.


Essential

* Experience working in a stores environment with a level of responsibility
* Confident using general IT systems, including Microsoft Office and stock management databases
* Positive and proactive, with the ability to use initiative and work independently
* Comfortable working in a hands‑on stores/warehouse setting, with some desk‑based IT tasks


Desirable

* Experience using Oracle R12
* A valid forklift licence or proven experience operating a forklift
