Join our team at a leading groundworks and civils contractor based in York, dedicated to delivering high-quality projects while maintaining strict adherence to budget and timelines. We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in estimating and project cost management.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
* Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures.
* Produce and submit applications for payment.
* Collaborate with project managers to ensure financial targets are met.
* Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and identify potential cost implications.
* Prepare reports on project costs and forecasts for stakeholders.
* Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favourable terms.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or estimator, specifically within the groundworks and civils sector.
* Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.
* Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
* Effective communication skills.
