Food Science Degree Apprenticeship
Avara Foods Science Degree Apprenticeship is ideal for those who want to study towards a degree while working at the same time.
Successful apprentices will graduate from Lincoln University with a BSc (Hons) Food Science & Technology degree and gain the skills and experience for a rewarding career in the Food sector.

Who are we, and what do we do?
You may not have heard of us, but there’s a good chance you’ve enjoyed our products. Avara Foods is one of the UK’s leading food businesses, supplying chicken and turkey to major supermarkets and well-known restaurants.
We own and manage our entire supply chain, from farms to factory to customer door, offering a variety of careers across different functions. We have major processing sites across England and an agricultural network of over 350 farms, spanning North Yorkshire to the South Coast and Wales.
Location
You will be based at our site in Caistor, North Lincolnshire, and will be released on a 1-week basis per module to study at Lincoln University, starting September 2025. You will also perform various roles within the factory technical team, beginning as a Quality Auditor.

Candidate Requirements
We seek enthusiastic, disciplined individuals with initiative, reliability, and conscientiousness. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and in teams are essential. Travel to various locations may be required.
This programme is designed for applicants with A-levels or equivalent. Non-traditional candidates with relevant work experience will be considered case by case.
Eligibility
Must have:
* 7 GCSEs grades 4-9 including Maths and English
* Plus one of the following:
o 88-104 UCAS points at A Level (food tech preferred but not required)
o Food Technologist Level 3 Apprenticeship
o BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (MMM)
o City and Guilds Level 3 Extended Diploma (minimum 13 units)
