Band 7 - Salary Range $109,825 to $122,758 per annum + 12% Super + ADO

The Opportunity
Are you seeking a fulfilling role where you can apply your expertise? We are recruiting for Melton’s Integrated Water Management (IWM) Officer position. Reporting to the Coordinator Sustainability and Climate Resilience, this role will spearhead critical projects and strategies, including the Integrated Water Management Strategy 2018-2028 and Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) Guidelines. The role will guide Council and the community towards sustainable water practices that align with local and regional water strategies and contribute to urban resilience.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about integrated water management, works well as part of a team, communicates the benefits of integrated water solutions effectively, establishes productive relationships swiftly, and embraces new opportunities within a growing Council. This role is permanent and ongoing.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of integrated water management and water sensitive urban design programs and initiatives.
* Facilitate the integration of water sensitive urban design principles across Council services, facilities, urban planning, infrastructure, and within the community.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
* A degree in Environmental/Civil Engineering, Urban Design, Environmental Science or equivalent with several years of subsequent relevant experience or higher formal qualifications in the field of specialist expertise.
* Lead and coordinate the development and implementation of the Integrated Water Management Plan and WSUD Framework.
* Cultivate a collaborative culture within the organisation that fosters staff growth and understanding of sustainable water management practices.
* Coordinate the formulation and implementation of key strategies, policies, and guidelines related to integrated water management and water sensitive urban design, aiming to enhance Council and community outcomes amidst climate challenges and urban growth.
* Develop and deliver integrated water management projects including water conservation, water quality, WSUD, and alternative water use.
