In this role, you will independently manage a complex caseload of patients with diverse medical and respiratory conditions, using advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based interventions. You’ll work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care and contribute to service development through supervision, training, and audit activities. You’ll also play a key role in our emergency on-call and weekend rotas, and deputise for the Critical Care Physiotherapy Team Leader when required. This is a physically and emotionally demanding role, requiring resilience, compassion, and excellent communication skills. Advert Independently manage a complex caseload of patients with medical and respiratory conditions in critical care settings. Conduct advanced assessments and deliver evidence-based physiotherapy interventions, including respiratory techniques and assisted ventilation. Communicate effectively with patients and carers, overcoming barriers to ensure understanding and informed consent. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to integrate physiotherapy into coordinated care and discharge planning. Provide specialist advice and training to colleagues, students, and external partners. Participate in and coordinate out-of-hours services, including evening, weekend, and Bank Holiday rotas. Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in line with professional standards. Supervise and support junior staff and students through training, appraisal, and clinical education. Contribute to service development through audit, research, and evidence-based practice initiatives. Deputise for the Critical Care Physiotherapy Team Leader, supporting operational management and team coordination.
