The role: DevOps Engineer

Medichecks launched the UKs first direct‑to‑consumer blood testing company in the UK and created a market where there was none. As well as the continued growth of our B2C business we now see considerable opportunity to grow in the B2B and B2B2C space through our technology platform, Plasma.

Role and Responsibilities
What you will be doing:
* Drive innovation and continuous improvement, particularly through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.
* Design, implement, and operate scalable, resilient infrastructure with high availability and performance.
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues in AWS, including networking and firewall configurations.
* Integrate infrastructure processes into CI/CD pipelines and adopt DevSecOps principles to embed security and automation into the lifecycle.
* Strengthen the security posture of our AWS environment by applying best practices and policies.
* Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation to ensure effective handover to BAU teams.
Skills and Experience
About you:
* In‑depth, hands‑on experience supporting a broad range of AWS services (e.g., VPC, EC2, ECS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch) in a secure, scalable enterprise setting.
* Proven experience with monitoring and alerting systems, with the ability to interpret metrics and logs to drive decisions.
* Familiarity with change control environments and practices.
* A solid understanding of risk management in cloud‑based systems.
* A proactive, problem‑solving mindset and the ability to resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; confident in engaging stakeholders, influencing decisions, and managing challenges.
* Flexibility to work independently or as part of a team, prioritising workloads to meet deadlines.
* A passion for continuous learning, improvement, and championing positive change within the team.

We have adopted a flexible hybrid approach. You will predominantly work from home but sometimes collaborate in our office or have 1:1 sessions.
