Key Responsibilities This role requires strong direct leadership, as well as the ability to drive accountability and engagement across regional finance teams and shared services. Financial Accounting, Control, and Statutory Reporting Lead the financial accounting and statutory reporting activities across the group. Own and develop the financial control framework, including risk management and internal assurance processes. Maintain up-to-date accounting policies that align with evolving standards and ensure consistent implementation across the group. Act as the main point of contact for external auditors and lead the group audit process. Ensure timely and accurate preparation, review, and filing of statutory accounts for all legal entities. Own the accuracy and integrity of the group balance sheet, including oversight of balance sheet reconciliations. Oversee tax compliance and advisory matters in collaboration with senior finance team members and external advisers. Manage costs and financial oversight for holding companies within the group structure. Banking and Treasury Lead cash flow forecasting, working capital reporting, and cash management activities—supporting executive and board-level decision-making. Develop and implement strategies to optimise group-wide cash flow. Manage banking operations, including policies, approval limits, and mandate updates. Strategic and Project Leadership Drive performance improvement initiatives across key financial metrics, such as cost management, cash flow, and operational efficiency. Lead finance integration efforts for acquisitions—including accounting, governance, and control frameworks. Team Leadership and Development Set clear objectives for team members and regularly review performance. Provide development opportunities to support team growth and progression. Key Skills and Experience Essential: Proven finance leader with a track record of delivering results in a complex, multi-entity environment. Strong technical accounting knowledge (e.g. FRS 102, IFRS) and experience with financial controls and risk management. Skilled in stakeholder engagement and influencing across all levels, including non-finance audiences. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Experience leading finance teams and implementing a culture of continuous improvement. Fully qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA). Experience with payroll operations and compliance. Desirable: Background in multi-site industries such as healthcare, retail, or hospitality. Experience managing or integrating payroll functions. Exposure to acquisition accounting and post-merger integration.
