A vacancy has arisen for a Sqn Ldr (Regt) to serve as the officer commanding of No 2623 Squadron, RAuxAF, at RAF Honington on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of no earlier than 01 March 2026. In accordance with AP3392 Vol 7 Part 2 Chap 6 Sect 7 the post is also open for applicants to apply on alternative TCOS, including ADC, PTVR or VeRR. Applicants are requested to make their TCOS preference clear in their application covering letter, for review during the selection process. Applicants for alternative TCOS should state how the role could be delivered on their preferred TCOS, for consideration by the selection board. The Combat Readiness Force’s (CRF) mission is “To DEFEND the RAF in order to ENABLE freedom of manoeuvre to deliver Air and Space Power”. The RAuxAF Regt Sqn Cdr’s role is to lead the Sqn to deliver required outputs, augmenting the CRF both in the UK and overseas. This is a broad remit but includes the provision of specialist Force Protection advice and the effective preparation and utility of reserves to deliver targets set in CONEMP, management plans and higher-level directives. This includes responsibility for: training, planning, safety, policy governance, retention of PTVRs and engagement with a wide range of Service and civilian stakeholders.
