Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a leading professional services firm seeking an Assistant General Counsel for their In-House Legal Team. The ideal candidate is an experienced commercial lawyer specializing in technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The role involves providing practical, business-focused legal advice globally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
* Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related issues; support daily commercial and regulatory legal matters.
* Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations across jurisdictions and network policies.
* Assist Technology and Risk Management teams with legal support.
* Develop and implement governance, policies, procedures, and playbooks.
* Review and advise on new services, solutions, and governance processes concerning technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI.
* Manage external legal counsel across jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
* Balance practical advice with risk management and compliance obligations.
* Deliver presentations and publish articles on legal topics.
* Mentor and support junior team members.
Candidate Profile:
* UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant experience at a major law firm or in-house.
* Strong legal skills with the ability to handle complex legal and regulatory issues.
* Strategic risk management skills with quick issue recognition and mitigation recommendations.
* Experience negotiating, drafting, and reviewing agreements; advising on laws across multiple jurisdictions.
* Ability to work independently and manage complex files, collaborating with business teams.
* Capable of balancing legal risk management with the needs of a growing global business.
* Self-motivated, able to thrive in a fast-paced, stakeholder-rich environment.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
