An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a hi-tech SME manufacturing company based in Suffolk. This role sits within the Operations team and reports directly to the Operations Manager. You will be involved in the in-process inspection and assembly of in-house manufactured laboratory equipment.
The Role
You will be responsible for a variety of hands-on assembly and inspection tasks, supporting production efficiency and quality standards across the manufacturing process.
Key responsibilities include:
Connecting wiring harnesses
Small connector crimping and soldering
Mechanical assembly
Assembly of small tubing and fittings
Reviewing manufacturing cell stock levels and quality
Supporting improvements to product assembly through new methods
Assisting production technicians with fault finding
Reporting slow processes and quality concerns to line management
Managing workload to meet production targets
Skills & Qualifications (Essential)
Minimum 2 years' experience in a production-focused role
2 A-Levels or National Diploma / GNVQ Level 3
Experience with mechanical assemblies
Ability and willingness to learn
Comfortable working in a busy, deadline-driven environment
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask
Confident using Windows, Excel and Word
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Desirable Skills
Good technical understanding of materials
Experience fault-finding electro-mechanical assemblies
Full UK driving licence
Additional Information
Salary: £26,000 £28,000 per annum, depending on experience
