What you will be doing
as a Warehouse Operative
1. Ensure that stock levels in the distribution centres reflect real time holdings both on a physical and system basis.
2. Receiving, picking and packing materials in line with operational KPIs.
3. Progressing goods in and goods out areas of activity in line with operational KPIs.
4. Ensure vehicles are loaded on time every time.
5. Comply with stock management principles and governance.
6. Provide support to the wider business during times of operational incidents.
7. Comply with all relevant legislation and agreed procedures to ensure a safe and legal working environment and consistent quality standards.
8. Maintain a safe and efficient handling of vehicles/FLTs in all respects, including the optimisation of fuel usage, cleanliness of vehicle.
9. Responsible for the security of the vehicle & load at all times.
10. Ensure all company equipment is maintained, utilised and returned as required within operational processes to the transport office/depot daily.
11. Report vehicle defects and ensure that the defect is documented.
12. Comply with Driver’s regulations & Working Time Directive in line with the O license legalisation and company procedures.
13. In addition to these duties, you may be required to undertake other duties in line with the needs of the business for example maintenance of mobile assets and clean & waste tanker driving activities, where appropriate training will be provided.
14. Ensure Health & Safety requirements are met within company and legal frameworks.
Location – Your base location will be Didcot, Oxfordshire.
Working Hours – Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.
What you should bring to the role
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:
15. Full UK Driving Licence
16. Fork lift truck license
17. Warehouse and inventory management experience
18. Basic numeracy and conversational English language
19. Working knowledge of SAP Warehouse Management and RFID technology (preferable)
20. Ideally hold class 2 licence & valid driver qualification card (desirable)
