We are seeking a dedicated Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our team at HMP Lewes. The role involves leading mental health care within a secure environment, providing comprehensive assessments, medication management, and emergency response.
Hours 37.5 hours per week, working Monday to Sunday, 7pm-7:30am. The shift pattern includes 3 shifts x 11.5 hours for three weeks, and 4 shifts x 11.5 hours every fourth week.
Salary Up to £52,259 per annum, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
* Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver a nurse-led service and prevent hospital admissions
* Undertake medication rounds and dispense controlled medication
* Respond to emergency situations
* Assess patients and undertake reception screening
* Evaluate patients' health needs using evidence-based frameworks and conduct risk assessments
* Assess physical and mental health on admission and throughout custody, making appropriate referrals
* Make clinical judgments regarding immediate and long-term treatment needs

* Registered nurse (Mental Health) with current NMC registration
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
