Location: Erdington, Birmingham Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time, long-term Monarch Education is working in partnership with a specialist provision in the Erdington area to recruit a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant for a September start. This role involves supporting primary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a structured, supportive, and nurturing learning environment. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils Support children with SEMH needs, focusing on emotional regulation and behaviour Assist with individual support plans and tailored interventions Support pupils' communication, social skills, and behaviour development Use positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies Help maintain a safe, calm, and inclusive classroom environment Support daily routines, transitions, and structured learning activities Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals Essential Criteria Experience working with SEND pupils, ideally SEMH Experience supporting primary-aged children Strong behaviour management skills Calm, patient, and resilient approach Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Genuine commitment to supporting children with additional needs Available for full-time work from September
