Overview
As the Senior Campaign Development Lead, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and delivering MAF UK’s digital fundraising and donor acquisition strategy. You will oversee the campaign development function in cross-departmental planning, including events. You will lead a small team working to help support campaigns, driving donor acquisition and fundraising. With a strong grasp of digital marketing, paid media, and persuasive storytelling, you will ensure our campaigns are innovative, data-driven, and aligned with MAF’s mission and values
You will also act as a strategic adviser to senior leadership on digital fundraising trends and performance, while mentoring team members and fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Team Oversight
1. Lead and mentor a team of marketing and campaign professionals fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
2. Working with Senior leads to develop the annual digital campaign roadmap, aligning with organisational goals and fundraising targets.
3. Act as the key point of contact for marketing and acquisition strategy across the team, ensuring the team delivers on performance, innovation, and agreed extended opportunities.
4. Represent the Campaign Development function in cross-departmental planning and strategic initiatives.
Campaign Strategy & Execution
5. Oversee the end-to-end development of integrated digital campaigns, from concept to delivery, across paid Ads and channels
6. Ensure campaigns are insight-led, audience-focused, and optimised for donor acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.
7. Support creative direction and content strategy, ensuring all assets reflect MAF’s brand, values, and messaging.
8. Working with the wider team, utilising donor data insights to help define both donor segmentation and donor journeys across appeals and campaigns
Paid Media & Digital Performance
9. Provide strategic oversight of all paid media activity, including agency relationships, budget allocation, and performance optimisation.
10. Guide the team in setting KPIs, testing hypotheses, and using analytics to drive continuous improvement.
11. Ensure campaigns are compliant with digital fundraising regulations and best practices.
Innovation & Digital Growth
12. Champion innovation in digital fundraising, exploring new platforms, tools, and techniques to reach and engage supporters.
13. Lead on digital transformation initiatives that enhance campaign effectiveness and supporter experience.
14. Stay abreast of sector trends and emerging technologies, sharing insights with the wider team.
Collaboration & Influence
15. Work closely with Fundraising, Communications, and Supporter Engagement teams to ensure campaign alignment and integration.
16. Build strong relationships with external partners, agencies, and suppliers to maximise campaign impact.
17. Influence internal stakeholders at all levels, advocating for digital-first thinking and supporter-centric approaches.
18. Proactively share resources, experience, creative ideas, and expertise to serve the wider MAF family
19. Leading and managing volunteers at events to ensure their general wellbeing and that they are always representing MAF to a high standard.
Events & Conferences
20. Work with the wider team to coordinate the organisation, ideation, development and delivery of innovative events at a range of festivals. Including working with MiC to ensure suitability and availability of resources for all events.
21. Oversee and manage the recruitment of Cabin Crew volunteers for events, ensuring all events are staffed to an appropriate level and by trained and competent staff or volunteers.
22. Lead events on the day, liaising with event organisers to ensure contracts are fulfilled, supervising set up, managing on site health and safety, activities and the event team and evaluating the event to ensure acquisition potential is maximized for all events.
23. Researching and developing new opportunities to maximize marketing, acquisition and income from attendance at events across teams.
Budget & Resource Management
24. Manage campaign budgets effectively, ensuring maximum ROI and transparent reporting.
25. Support with forecasting, planning, and resource allocation.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential Requirements
26. Educated to degree or equivalent standard
27. 5 years of proven experience in digital fundraising and marketing in a charity or mission-driven organisation, ideally including 2 years of teal leadership/management experience
28. Deep understanding of digital trends, donor behaviour, and fundraising compliance.
29. Experience in the end-to-end management of large-scale events.
30. Strong creative ideation and direction skills
31. Experience in writing, reviewing and editing copy for a variety of audiences and uses.
32. Demonstrable success in developing and delivering multi-channel digital campaigns with measurable impact.
33. Demonstrable expertise in paid media strategy and optimisation (Google Ads, Meta, programmatic, .
34. Data-driven approach with experience using analytics tools (., Google Analytics, CRM platforms).
35. Excellent and proven stakeholder management
36. Experience in project management

37. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
38. Experience in using canva/adobe creative software
39. Expertise in SEO, CRO, and A/B testing methodologies.

Terms and Conditions:
43. Location: This role is base at the MAF UK Offices in Folkestone, Kent alongside Cranfield office in Oxford
44. Working Hours: As a senior appointment at least 36 hours per week but in addition those required to achieve the agreed responsibilities, with 1 hour for lunch daily, unpaid. Hours should be agreed with line manager.

46. Annual Leave: Annual leave entitlement of 22 days per year and 8 paid public holidays per year.
47. Pension Scheme: Non-contributory (10% of salary)
48. 6-month probation period with a 3-month review
49. Notice period is 3 months.
50. Salary: Specialist £45,000 per annum
