The Director, Global Pricing serves as a pricing subject matter expert within BioMarin and drives analyses required to support pricing decisions. This individual will be responsible for both leading Global pricing research and analyses as well as for coordinating and aligning global pricing activities.
The Director of Pricing will inform pricing decisions and ensure consideration of global implications of price changes. This individual will lead market research and will support the synthesis of pricing recommendations. He/she will assist in gathering pricing inputs for forecasting and business development assessments.
The Director, Global Pricing is a member of the Global Value, Access and Strategic Pricing (GVASP) team and will work closely with global, regional, and local market access colleagues, including the Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) team. This role involves working across BioMarin’s marketed and pipeline products.
Responsibilities
1. Pricing analytics and operations:
2. International price referencing (IRP) and reporting including analytics based on IRP
3. Price forecasting and modelling - support development of accurate and robust product forecasts with internal commercial teams.
4. Collaborate with Global Commercial Operations for long-range planning.
5. Prepare and present high-quality recommendations to Senior leadership; support governance forums (Senior VP pricing forums, CET, price board).
6. Price tracking and benchmarking of BMRN and competitor products; maintain global dashboards.
7. Develop compliant pricing and analytical tools for discussions with payers.
8. Maintain an internal pricing infrastructure for tracking prices, gathering intelligence, and decision-support analyses.
9. Manage price changes across regions.
10. Ensure pricing data accuracy within internal systems.
11. Conduct analyses to resolve price management issues.
12. Country support:
13. Support local market access with pricing analytics.
14. Engage payers and authorities as needed to support reimbursement outcomes.
15. Develop negotiation strategies per country and product.
16. Pricing strategies:
17. Ensure strategies are high quality and fit for purpose.
18. Develop pricing strategies considering outcome-based agreements, risk sharing, and financial arrangements.
19. Pricing research:
20. Lead studies to understand product value.
21. Support P&R assessments for forecasting, business development, and pre-clinical work.
22. Provide input into launch sequencing and timing.
23. Operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Position requires up to 20% travel, including global travel.
Experience
* 5+ years of European pharmaceutical market access experience.
* Prior experience with pricing research.
* Knowledge of Global or EU pricing & reimbursement processes.
* Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Excel.
* Excellent communication, collaboration, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
* International experience preferred.
Education
* Bachelor’s degree, preferably in life sciences or business.
* MBA strongly preferred.
