We are currently looking for a Junior Pastry Sous Chef to come and join our team working in this unique and luxury setting in Mayfair.
About the role
* Assist the Pastry Sous Chef and Head Pastry Chef in the creation and development of new pastry menus, ensuring innovation and excellence.
* Prepare, bake, and decorate a variety of pastries and desserts to the club's exacting standards.
* Oversee daily kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Pastry Chef, ensuring everything operates smoothly.
* Train and mentor junior staff, fostering a positive and collaborative kitchen environment.
* Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
* Collaborate with the broader culinary team to ensure seamless service and high-quality delivery of all menu items.
* Contribute to inventory management, including ordering and stock control of pastry ingredients.
About you
* Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Junior Sous Chef in a high-volume establishment.
* A culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
* Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, including baking, decorating, and plating.
* Creative and innovative with a passion for experimenting with new flavors and dessert concepts.
* Excellent teamwork and leadership skills.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
* Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
* Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
