Project Engineer – Scenario Based Testing (110567) at Warwick.
Overview
The role involves application of scenario-based testing approaches for ADAS and Automated Driving Systems, including scenario generation, metrics, defining and analysing operational design domain (ODD), using scenario definition languages, applying ontological concepts in testing, and developing testing plans and measuring coverage across functional and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Apply scenario-based testing approaches for ADAS and Automated Driving Systems.
* Generate scenarios, define scenario metrics, and analyse the operational design domain (ODD).
* Use scenario definition languages and ontological concepts in testing.
* Develop testing plans and measure coverage across functional and safety requirements.
* Collaborate with a wider team of scenario concept experts, data scientists, simulation-based testing and safety analysis.
* Engage with academic and industrial partners through various research projects (e.g., Horizon Europe funded SYNERGIES, CERTAIN, EVENTS, i4Driving, UKRI/Innovate UK projects).
About You
* Strong knowledge and experience in application of systems engineering concepts and automated vehicle operation.
* Good understanding of concepts such as ontology, scenario generation, coverage metrics, operational design domain, and test scenario development.
* Demonstrated understanding of standards such as SAE J3016, ISO 21434, ISO 50832 and other relevant safety standards in automated driving.
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary research and engineering team.
Qualifications
* Relevant degree or equivalent experience in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
* Prior experience in scenario-based testing or automotive testing is an advantage.
