Band 7 Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist
Older Adult Mental Health Occupational Therapy Service – Enhanced Dementia Support Service, Aberdeenshire Health & Social Care Partnership
Position type: Permanent or 12 months fixed-term (secondment considered with support from current manager).
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and provide occupation-focused treatment in a variety of settings.
* Support multi-disciplinary formulation and work closely with members of the Enhanced Dementia Support Service and colleagues in the Older Adult Mental Health Service and wider health and social care system.
* Contribute to service development, quality improvement, service evaluation and audit.
* Receive line management from the Enhanced Dementia Service Team Lead (Clinical Psychologist) and clinical supervision; receive Occupational Therapy professional leadership and clinical supervision from the Mental Health & Learning Disability Services Occupational Therapy Divisional Lead.
* Participate in regular supervision, annual appraisal and personal development plan.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience working with older adults and supporting people living with Dementia.
* Proficiency using relevant standardised and non-standardised Occupational Therapy assessments.
* Involvement in quality improvement and service development.
* Ability to use initiative and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Working Conditions
Primarily community-based, including community-based home visits (main base within Glen O’Dee Hospital in Banchory). The post holder will work across a variety of sites/clinical settings.
A UK driving licence and access to a car are required. Flexible working, including evening and weekend work, may be required to meet service demands.
Benefits and Remuneration
From 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part-time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
