Hire Coordinator - Reading

Salary: £28,000£35,000 per year + bonuses
Hours: Monday Friday, 7:00am5:00pm

Our client is one of the UKs largest independent plant and tool hire companies, operating 18 depots across the South of England, Wales, and Scotland. They are now searching for an additional team members to join their busy business.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and organised Hire Coordinator to join our clients team in Reading. You will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day hire operations, managing local fleet availability, and delivering an excellent service to our customers. This is a hands-on role where youll work closely with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to support business growth and ensure our depot runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage depot hire operations, ensuring a professional, efficient, and customer-focused service.
* Oversee local hire fleet stock levels and collaborate with internal teams to maximise availability across the network.
* Manage new hire and off-hire activity within the depot, ensuring accuracy and quality.
* Support the central logistics team to ensure effective coordination of transport services.
* Work with the central Re-hire team to allocate equipment, prioritising customer requirements and maximising opportunities for business growth.
* Handle incoming calls, enquiries, and sales requests, providing support to the local team as needed.
* Build and develop customer accounts through proactive sales activity.
* Contribute to achieving sales growth targets for all company products and services.

What Were Looking For

* Experience in sales or customer service, ideally within the construction, plant, or tool hire industry.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
* Confidence to work independently and use initiative.
* Effective planning, time management, and problem-solving skills.
* Flexible approach to adapt to business needs.
* Self-motivated, resilient, and able to perform under pressure.
* Strong negotiation skills.
* Competent IT skills.
* Commitment to personal development, integrity, and trust.
