Job Summary

We are excited to invite the right candidate to join our amazing and inspirational, award-winning team, to help grow and reach new families across Greater Manchester in line with our growth and development strategy.


The Opportunity

As a Children's Domiciliary Carer, you'll join our internal care team helping to deliver a first-class care service. Working in collaboration with our existing Care Team, you will deliver care to children aged 0 to 19 years, within their own homes and in the community. You will promote positive life experiences and choices and make memories with children who may have short lives.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality care, building strong relationships with other carers and staff within Lagans Foundation and the families, to provide exceptional care at every stage, and promote internally and externally the amazing work the charity offers through donated and commissioned care streams.


Main duties of the job

* Complete Level 2 TQUK Care for children and infants with heart defects and feeding difficulties.
* Complete induction training.
* Attend team meetings to share best practice, resolve challenges, and offer morale support to others and continue team building.
* Complete ongoing 6-weekly supervisions.
* Always remain compliant.
* Mentoring / buddying new members of staff following completion of probation.
* Proactively source additional activities for children to engage with during term and non-term time.
* Provide exceptional care, including feedback within dedicated communication channels for staff and managers, and complete visit records and other necessary documents.

Job Description


Job responsibilities

Role Purpose: This is a variable hours (full-time or part-time) position with Lagans Foundation's specialist care team. The job holder will provide personal care support and play to children aged 0-19 with complex health conditions who live within their own homes. You will complete comprehensive training, monitored through mentorship, observation, supervision, and formal assessment, to support your confidence and professional skills.

You will work various shifts according to the needs of the children, families, and the charity.


Breadth Of Responsibility:

Manage relationships and health outcomes of the children and families you work with.

Remain compliant with policies, procedures, training, and other role requirements, including any future Covid or pandemic restrictions.

Help promote the work of Lagans Foundation and assist the fundraising team through ideas, attendance at events, volunteering, or hosting fundraisers.

Show dedication to ensuring positive change and meeting key performance indicators.

* Maintain up-to-date knowledge and practice through CPD.
* Attend all training and meet deadlines.
* Participate in team meetings, supervisions, and observation sessions.

Time Keeping: Deliver care hours as scheduled.

Working relationships: Engage with team members at meetings.

Accuracy: Submit visit records and documentation promptly.

Administration:

* Manage visit logs, accident forms, safeguarding reports, mileage claims.
* Ensure accurate and timely documentation and reporting.
* Administer medication accurately and report as trained.
* Provide feedback on risk assessments and care plans.
* Attend team meetings and supervision sessions.
* Complete all training requirements.


Person Specification

Qualifications

* Essential: GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above, or equivalent.
* Desirable: Level 2 and Level 3 Health and Social Care, Enhanced DBS.

Experience

* Essential: Experience working with children and delivering personal care.
* Desirable: Experience working shifts.
