Job Title: Maintenance Team Leader
Department: Production
Reporting to: Operations Manager
Due to Hewland’s continued expansion and strong product portfolio across both motorsport and future automotive, we are looking to recruit for a hands on Maintenance Team Leader to take ownership of all machine and facility maintenance within our manufacturing site.
This is a shop‑floor‑based role, ideal for a practical, technically strong maintenance professional who enjoys leading by example and staying on the tools.
You will play a key role in keeping production running smoothly by maintaining manufacturing equipment, proactively preventing breakdowns, and ensuring our facilities remain safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.
Duties and responsibilities include:
* Carrying out hands‑on mechanical and electrical maintenance on manufacturing machinery
* Acting as the first point of response for equipment breakdowns
* Leading and supporting day‑to‑day maintenance activities on the shop floor
* Planning and completing preventive maintenance to reduce downtime
* Supporting facility maintenance including utilities, electrical systems, HVAC, and building fabric
* Coordinating contractors and specialist service providers
* Leading safe working practices and promoting a strong safety culture
The ideal candidate must have/ skills required:
* Attention to detail
* Proven experience in a hands‑on maintenance role within a manufacturing environment
* Strong fault‑finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems
* Previous experience as a Maintenance Lead, Senior Technician, or similar
* A practical, proactive attitude with strong leadership skills
* Ability to work in a fast‑paced production environment
