We are seeking a Band 5 Immunisation Nurse to cover all schools and clinics across the Dartford, Gravesham, Sevenoaks, and Edenbridge areas. This post offers flexible working options including full-time, part-time, or term-time hours.
Eligible Professionals
* Nurses and midwives registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). (Nursing associates are not eligible)
* Pharmacists registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* Paramedics and Physiotherapists registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with some Saturday clinics expected.
Essential Requirements
* Full UK driving licence
* Use of a car for work purposes
Responsibilities
1. Deliver a comprehensive immunisation service to children and young people in Kent and Medway across various settings, including schools, clinics, and community venues.
2. Administer vaccinations as part of the National Childhood Immunisation Programme and Staff Flu Campaign, including seasonal flu, HPV, MenACWY, Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Polio vaccines, and support catch-up programmes like MMR and neonatal Hepatitis B.
3. Collaborate with health visitors, school nurses, educational staff, primary care colleagues, NHS England, Public Health, and other agencies to ensure a safe and effective immunisation service.
4. Plan, deliver, and evaluate immunisation sessions, ensuring high-quality care and responsiveness to local needs.
5. Analyze immunisation data, implement public health strategies, and work to increase vaccination coverage.
6. Provide guidance and information to parents, professionals, and school staff to facilitate informed decision-making and smooth immunisation sessions.
