We are looking for a motivated and skilled Veterinary Surgeon to join a thriving, independent practice just north of Manchester.
This is an exciting opportunity for a vet who wants to work in a supportive, collaborative environment with excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression.
The Role
1. Full-time position (3-4 days per week)
2. Participation in a Saturday rota (1 in 3 Saturdays, 9:00-12:00)
3. Flexible opportunities to work across multiple branch surgeries
4. Mix of consults, diagnostics, and surgery
5. Scope to develop areas of interest, including complementary therapies, wildlife rehabilitation, or student mentoring
The role is ideal for an experienced vet, but recent graduates looking for hands-on experience and career development will also be considered.
There is significant scope to shape your role, whether that's helping develop a new branch with rehabilitation facilities, supporting operations at the main surgery, or getting involved in teaching and charity work.
The Practice
6. Independent, multi-branch practice with a main surgery and two nearby branches
7. Main surgery features four consulting rooms, separate cat and dog wards, separate cat and dog operating theatres, and a dedicated dental suite
8. Additional branch surgeries include consulting rooms, operating facilities, in-house lab, and dental equipment
9. New bespoke branch with a Pet Well-being Centre offering complementary therapies including hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, acupuncture, and K-Laser (opening November 2025)
10. Strong commitment to wildlife and charity work, including provision of veterinary care for a local rescue centre
Team & Culture
11. Stable, long-serving team of vets, nurses, and support staff
12. Mentoring programme for new graduates and vet students
13. Regular meetings to discuss cases, share CPD, and implement new ideas
14. Encouragement to develop special interests in medicine, surgery, anaesthesia, or complementary therapies

16. No out-of-hours responsibilities

22. Situated in Lancashire, close to the South Pennines

Package
25. Salary: £38,000-£65,000 (dependent on experience)
26. Five weeks holiday plus bank holidays
27. CPD: £1,750 + 1 week study leave
28. VDS and RCVS membership included
29. Journal subscriptions
30. One in three Saturday morning clinics
31. No out-of-hours
