We are currently recruiting for a Care Assistant to deliver high standards of care and support to residents in a person-centred, compassionate, and respectful manner. The Care Assistant will promote dignity, independence, and quality of life for each individual in line with their care plan and our care home's values.
Responsibilities
* Assist residents with daily personal hygiene, dressing, toileting and continence care.
* Support residents with mobility, positioning and use of aids such as hoists and wheelchairs.
* Help residents with eating and drinking, including feeding when required.
* Provide companionship, reassurance and emotional support, encouraging participation in activities and social interaction.
* Observe and report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to senior staff.
* Accurately record care given, including food and fluid intake, personal care and observations.
* Follow care home policies and procedures, maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic environment and using PPE correctly.
* Adhere to moving and handling protocols, health & safety guidelines and infection control measures.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
* Experience working in a care home setting or with elderly residents.
* Training in Basic First Aid, Manual Handling, Infection Control and Safeguarding of Adults.
* Good standard of education and basic record‑keeping skills.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and identify and anticipate needs.
* Right to live and work in the UK and satisfactory NI check required.
