We re looking for an experienced Programme Manager to lead the rollout of two key SMART metering contracts. This includes managing the installation of meters and the supporting technology for connectivity and data capture. You ll ensure both contracts are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external partners to keep everything aligned and running smoothly. Key Responsibilities Ownership of high level and detailed plans for smart meter deployment and delivery Working with the SMART delivery lead, present forecasts and plans for smart meter deployment to internal and external stakeholders in alignment with the agreed deployment plan. Ownership of reports relating to the deployment and delivery plan to manage change, risk and opportunity to agree change and governance Agree corrective actions and manage conflicts, change control for early warning and compensation events Work with internal colleagues to ensure the smart rollout aligns with strategy and wider Infrastructure programmes of work Work closely with contractors and attend high level meetings relating to contract performance. Provide regular project status updates to senior management, detailing project progress, risks, and key performance metrics. Working with the deployment lead to authorise contractors payment applications for completed works Working with Communications and customer services team to provide input into campaigns and help steer customer communications. Produce monthly financial forecasts and attend project reviews for governance Lead the full lifecycle of the SMART programme, including planning, design, construction, commissioning, and handover, ensuring that takeover meets the required levels of connectivity, data requirements, quality, and safety. Work collaboratively with all team members to achieve business performance objectives Contribute to a professionally developing community of project delivery and technical expertise to increase organisational maturity, competence, and capability as a centre of technical excellence for capital programme delivery. Rigorously explore opportunities and challenges to ensure capital programme delivery solutions maximise value whilst achieving business outcomes. What do you need? Skills, Qualifications & Competencies Ability to develop effective relationships across different organisations, to influence and engage others to achieve successful outcomes Ability to identify trends from complex data and establish the root cause of issues and implement corrective actions. Prioritise and adapt plans, monitor progress and take action to address shortfalls. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to adapt to changes to maintain momentum. Maintaining control of resources from multiple suppliers and partners Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with a broad range of stakeholders Technologically literate with experience in use of BI, SharePoint, Teams, MS Office (Excel/Word) Document and access control to Teams/SharePoint to ensure reporting accuracy Strong customer focus and proactive approach to achieving company objectives Full UK driving license is essential Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject or equivalent experience Project leadership experience relating to the delivery of complex projects and/or programmes Understanding of Project and programme management principles to drive strong programme controls and best practice Experience working with contractors under contractual terms (NEC4 or similar) We recognise people want to work in a variety of different ways, and that s why we re happy to consider flexible working arrangements.
