Role: Medical Photographer
Contract Length: 3 months

Pay Rate to Intermediary: £20.06 per hour

Spinwell is recruiting for a Medical Photographer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
Responsibilities of the Medical Photographer
1. Undertake clinical photography in all surgical specialties across various locations, including Medical Photography Studio, Operating Theatres, Dressing Clinics, Minor Injuries department, Out Patients, Pre Assessment, Wards, Maxillofacial Unit, Orthodontic department, Corneo Plastic Unit, and Burns Unit.
2. Inform patients, relatives, and/or carers about the nature and purposes of clinical photography and obtain appropriate consent.
3. Reassure traumatised, anxious, and self-conscious patients, undertaking photography with a chaperone present where appropriate.
4. Maintain ongoing professional development and stay updated on national and audit standards.
5. Collaborate with clinical staff to determine the best photographic methods to achieve optimal results.
6. Ensure services comply with the Trust Photographic and Video Recording Policy and Data Protection Act 1998 regulations.
7. Perform clinical photography for other healthcare sites upon request.
8. Use effective communication, tact, and persuasion with clients, staff, patients, and relatives, considering impairments, consciousness levels, language barriers, and time constraints.
9. Foster good relationships with other departments, the multidisciplinary team, and visitors, maintaining morale among staff and patients.
10. Operate the Clinical Image Management software accurately, ensuring correct data entry before uploading images to the Trust intranet system. Note: Access to Clinical Image Management is limited to Medical Photographers and the Office Administrator/Receptionist.
11. Operate 3D imaging equipment, including system calibration, data input, image collection, and upload for clinical use.
Skills and Experience of the Medical Photographer
* BSc or postgraduate certificate in Clinical Photography or demonstrated equivalent practical experience.
* Eligibility for AHCS registration.
* Experience working independently without direct supervision.
* Experience in clinical photography across diverse settings.
* Extensive technical knowledge of camera and lighting equipment.
* Proficiency with computer software, including advanced knowledge of specialised design and graphics packages.
